Marina's artwork is concerned with our experience and understanding of what we call 'nature'. Drawing research material in fields such as natural sciences and social sciences, many of her projects involve working with museums or other collections.

She has been involved in a range of transdisciplinary projects, residencies, and exhibitions for over a decade, and has also taught, given artist talks, and led workshops in various venues including the Iceland University of the Arts, the Dove Marine Laboratory, and the Manchester Museum. Her latest project, the Whale Voice Choir, was shortlisted for the Dare Art Prize and gained coverage on international media channels including the BBC and Reuters.
She additionally does natural history museum curation work, and she was also the co-founder and co-director of Fjúk Arts Centre in Húsavík from 2013 to 2016.
